Aubree Matthews, LPC-A
Aubree is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-Associate) supervised by Nicole Reger, LPC-S, and she’s not your typical therapist. With a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Sam Houston State University, Aubree is all about helping clients navigate the messy, confusing, and high-pressure parts of life that no one really prepares you for.
Aubree specializes in the real stuff people are actually dealing with—anxiety that keeps you up at night, depression that steals your energy, trauma that sticks around longer than it should, ADHD chaos, relationship drama, identity questions, self-esteem struggles, grief, stress, codependency, and the kind of emotional overwhelm that makes you feel stuck in your own head. If it feels heavy, complicated, or hard to talk about, she’s the person teens and young adults want in their corner. Aubree works with adolescents (10+), young adults, adults, and couples.
Her style? Warm, real, and zero pretense. Aubree brings authenticity into every session—no clinical coldness, no surface-level clichés. She uses an integrative, human-focused approach pulling from DBT, CBT, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Person-Centered Therapy, and Existential Therapy. Her sessions feel like a mix of deep self-discovery, emotional honesty, grounded skills, and conversation that actually feels human.
Aubree believes therapy should feel like a team effort, not a lecture. She sees each client as the expert of their own story and loves helping people challenge the patterns that hold them back, build confidence, understand their emotions, and create lives that feel genuinely aligned with who they want to be. She values creativity, meaningful connection, and finding moments of joy—even in tough seasons. Aubree is a big believer that progress beats perfection every time, and she celebrates every small win right alongside her clients.
